Coaching Process

Are there professional standards for the coaching industry?
Yes, there is a code of ethics, core competencies, and accreditation processes overseen by the International Coach Federation (ICF), which is the largest and most recognized coach accrediting organization. How will I know if you are the right coach for me?
During our initial conversation or discovery session, we'll determine if we're a good fit. You can always reach out to me prior to starting any committment to have a conversation. How do I get started in the coaching process?

I see you are a clinical therapist. Can you work with me (or my child) in therapy?

No, I am not providing therapy as part of any of my coaching programs. While I am a licensed clinical therapist, my coaching services are distinct from therapy. Although coaching can have therapeutic benefits, it is not the same as therapy, mentoring, or teaching. Coaching focuses on helping clients set and achieve personal and professional goals, develop skills, and enhance their overall well-being.

As a clinical social worker licensed by the State of Minnesota, I am bound by the ethical codes of both the Minnesota Board of Social Work and the International Coach Federation (ICF). This dual adherence ensures that I maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and client care in all aspects of my coaching practice.

If, at any time during our coaching process, I believe you could benefit from therapy, it will be my duty to discuss this with you and offer support in finding an appropriate therapist. Your well-being is my top priority, and I want to ensure you receive the best possible care for your needs. I frequently work with individuals who are also in therapy, as coaching can complement therapy by focusing on different aspects of personal growth and development. It is important that you disclose to your therapist, as well as to me, that you are working with both of us to ensure a cohesive approach to your overall well-being.

What if coaching isn’t right for me? Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
  Yes! I offer a money-back guarantee for all my coaching services, though the specifics depend on the program and package you choose. If you decide that coaching isn't right for you, I will provide a refund for the unused portion of the program. I want each client to perceive the value they are receiving as worthwhile and transformative. If you are ever unsatisfied with the coaching experience, please contact me directly. This way, I have the opportunity to address your concerns and make any necessary changes to improve your experience. The exact terms and timelines are outlined in your agreement.

Is my data secure and confidential?
Absolutely. We use three levels of security:

  • Username and password protection
  • Verisign Security Certificate
  • Secured pages (https://)

Is my information confidential?
Yes, only you have access to your information through a secure login system.

Additional Support

Can I contact you between scheduled sessions?
Yes! For urgent support, post an inquiry to the Client Log for "just in time" coaching via your Private Client Website.

Accessing the Private Client Area

What is the "Register Now" link and when would I use it?
Use "Register Now" to create your account and access the private client area. Your account will be activated within 24 hours.

How do I log in to the private client area?
Click the Login link on the website and enter your assigned username and password. Need login information? Contact me to set up your account.

Can I change my password?
Yes. After logging in with your assigned password, you can change it anytime under the FORMS tab in your Client Profile.

What if I forget my login details?
Click "forgot password" on the Login page or contact me for assistance.

Forms & Documents

What is included in the "Welcome Packet"?
The Welcome Packet contains essential forms to start our coaching journey, including a "Client Profile," "Goals," and "Discovery" form, along with our coaching agreement.

Scheduling

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
You can reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice using the online calendar in your Private Client Website area.

Payments

How do I make payments for coaching services?
Payments are made upfront via the coaching console system. Options include check, cash, debit, credit card, or PayPal. Follow the instructions on your monthly invoice for specific payment methods.

What payment methods are accepted?
We accept checks, cash, debit, credit cards, and PayPal. For automatic payments, complete the "Credit Card Authorization" form in the Documents section.
